Moment of Truth: Casting Down Lies #37
Estimated Reading Time: 2 minutes“We don’t need to study the Bible every day and night.”
All throughout the Word, many examples tell us to meditate on His Word, write it on our foreheads, teach it to our children all day, and study it. The reason for this is to remember it perfectly.
However, let’s begin with John who tells us that a Christian cannot sin.
Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for His seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God. ~1 John 3:9 KJV
He cannot sin because God’s seed remains in him. The Greek word of seed is sperma.
The seed of God is:
Being born of God as we see above. This means Christ’s baptism where Jesus lives in you by way of God’s Holy Spirit:
John answered, saying unto them all, I indeed baptize you with water; but One mightier than I cometh, the latchet of whose shoes I am not worthy to unloose: He shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost and with fire: ~Luke 3:16 KJV
And Jesus, the Word of God:
Now the parable is this: The seed is the word of God. ~Luke 8:11 KJV
Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever. ~1 Peter 1:23 KJV
If either of these are lacking, a person can become an apostate because God’s seed does not remain in them.
Finally, Jesus said this,
And Jesus answered him, saying, “It is written, ‘That man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word of God.’” ~Luke 4:4 KJV
Therefore, we live by EVERY word of God. So, it is important to study God’s word— who is Christ Jesus— for His seed to remain and to thrive in the soil of our lives.
