14 Biblical Things Christian Women Can Do for God’s Glory

Estimated Reading Time: 11 minutes

1. A Christian woman can pray:

Jesus said this about the church.

And said unto them, “It is written, My house shall be called the house of prayer; but ye have made it a den of thieves.” ~Matthew 21:13 KJV

The church is the house of prayer, but women can pray because it is to God1 and a woman ought to cover head.

[13] And when they were come in, they went up into an upper room, where abode both Peter, and James, and John, and Andrew, Philip, and Thomas, Bartholomew, and Matthew, James the son of Alphaeus, and Simon Zelotes, and Judas the brother of James. [14] These all continued with one accord in prayer and supplication, with the women, and Mary the mother of Jesus, and with His brethren. ~Acts 1:13-14 KJV

Those disciples were living together, but the women, Mary, and Jesus’ brothers were not living there. Yet, they gathered to pray. Keep in mind that according to scriptural events, men take the lead with decisions as women tend to assist quietly. “One accord” means that they were all in agreement.

2. A Christian woman, having the legitimate gift of prophecy, can prophesy to those seeking guidance from the Lord:

[14] So Hilkiah the priest, and Ahikam, and Achbor, and Shaphan, and Asahiah, went unto Huldah the prophetess, the wife of Shallum the son of Tikvah, the son of Harhas, keeper of the wardrobe; (now she dwelt in Jerusalem in the college;) and they communed with her. [15] And she said unto them, “Thus saith the Lord God of Israel, ‘Tell the man that sent you to Me,…” ~2 Kings 22:14-15 KJV

3. A Christian woman can share Jesus and the gospel message in the city with those who look for redemption:

[36] And there was one Anna, a prophetess, the daughter of Phanuel, of the tribe of Aser: she was of a great age, and had lived with an husband seven years from her virginity; [37] And she was a widow of about fourscore and four years, which departed not from the temple, but served God with fastings and prayers night and day. [38] And she coming in that instant gave thanks likewise unto the Lord, and spake of Him to all them that looked for redemption in Jerusalem. ~Luke 2:36-38 KJV

4. A Christian woman can publish the gospel message or testify:

The Lord gave the word: great was the company of those that published it . ~Psalm 68:11 KJV

[48] And when the Gentiles heard this, they were glad, and glorified the word of the Lord: and as many as were ordained to eternal life believed. [49] And the word of the Lord was published throughout all the region. ~Acts 13:48-49 KJV

Mary Magdalene came and told the disciples that she had seen the Lord, and that He had spoken these things unto her. ~John 20:18 KJV

5. A (married) Christian woman can successfully work from home:

[4] And Deborah, a prophetess, the wife of Lapidoth, she judged Israel at that time. [5] And she dwelt under the palm tree of Deborah between Ramah and Beth-el in mount Ephraim: and the children of Israel came up to her for judgment. ~Judges 4:4-5 KJV

Read about the Proverbs 31 woman.

6. A Christian woman can attend to or financially support the traveling evangelist:

[55] And many women were there beholding afar off, which followed Jesus from Galilee, ministering unto Him: [56] Among which was Mary Magdalene, and Mary the mother of James and Joses, and the mother of Zebedee’s children. ~Matthew 27:55-56 KJV

[40] There were also women looking on afar off: among whom was Mary Magdalene, and Mary the mother of James the less and of Joses, and Salome; [41] (Who also, when he was in Galilee, followed Him, and ministered unto Him;) and many other women which came up with Him unto Jerusalem. ~Mark 15:40-41 KJV

Notice that these women above kept their distance, but were observant to His needs.

And Joanna the wife of Chuza Herod’s steward, and Susanna, and many others, which ministered unto Him of their substance. ~Luke 8:3 KJV

7. A Christian woman must “love one another”:

[5] And now I beseech thee, lady, not as though I wrote a new commandment unto thee, but that which we had from the beginning, that we love one another. [6] And this is love, that we walk after His commandments. This is the commandment, That, as ye have heard from the beginning, ye should walk in it. ~2 John 1:5-6 KJV

8. A Christian woman ought to represent godliness through the good works laid out:

Well reported of for good works; if she have brought up children, if she have lodged strangers, if she have washed the saints’ feet, if she have relieved the afflicted, if she have diligently followed every good work. ~1 Timothy 5:10 KJV

Who can find a virtuous woman?

9. A Christian woman must love, honor, and fear God in body and spirit:

Consider a headcovering:

But every woman that prayeth or prophesieth with her head uncovered dishonoureth her head: for that is even all one as if she were shaven. ~1 Corinthians 11:5 KJV

Fear the Lord through your physical appearance and manner:

Favour is deceitful, and beauty is vain: but a woman that feareth the Lord, she shall be praised. ~Proverbs 31:30 KJV

Adorn your spirit in a godly way, rather than adorning yourself in a worldly way:

[3] Whose adorning let it not be that outward adorning of plaiting the hair, and of wearing of gold, or of putting on of apparel; [4] But let it be the hidden man of the heart, in that which is not corruptible, even the ornament of a meek and quiet spirit, which is in the sight of God of great price. ~1 Peter 3:3-4 KJV

[19] What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own? [20] For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God’s. ~1 Corinthians 6:19-20 KJV

Build up your most holy faith:

[20] But ye, beloved, building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost, [21] Keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life. ~ Jude 1:20-21 KJV

Praise and Sing:

[19] Speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord; [20] Giving  thanks always for all things unto God and the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ; [21] Submitting yourselves one to another in the fear of God. ~ Ephesians 5:19-21 KJV

Yes, you can praise the Lord and sing in the courts and sanctuary, but not through exaltation and leadership.  Praising and singing to the Lord is different from speaking to the congregation or directly inquiring of leadership.

Praise ye the Lord.  Praise God in His sanctuary: praise Him in the firmament of His power. ~Psalm 150:1 KJV

Enter into His gates with thanksgiving, and into His courts with praise:  be thankful unto Him, and bless His name. ~Psalm 100:4 KJV

In the courts of the Lord’s house, in the midst of thee, O Jerusalem.  Praise ye the Lord. ~ Psalm 116:19 KJV

10. A Christian woman can possibly save their unsaved husband:

[14] For the unbelieving husband is sanctified by the wife, and the unbelieving wife is sanctified by the husband: else were your children unclean; but now are they holy. ~1 Corinthians 7:14 KJV

[1] Likewise, ye wives, be in subjection to your own husbands; that, if any obey not the word, they also may without the word be won by the conversation of the wives; [2] While they behold your chaste conversation coupled with fear. ~1 Peter 3:1-2 KJV

Remember, if anyone inquires about the Lord to the woman, she can share it.  This includes the husband.

11. A Christian woman can plead the blood of Jesus over the life of her anointed husband to save his life because of sin:

Before Jesus came to become our circumcision made without hands, Zipporah knew about the circumcision.

[24] And it came to pass by the way in the inn, that the Lord met him, and sought to kill him. [25] Then Zipporah took a sharp stone, and cut off the foreskin of her son, and cast it at his feet, and said, “Surely a bloody husband art thou to me.” [26] So He let him go: then she said, “A bloody husband thou art , because of the circumcision.”~Exodus 4:24-26 KJV

12. A Christian woman should teach the younger women:

[4] That they may teach the young women to be sober, to love their husbands, to love their children, [5] To be discreet, chaste, keepers at home, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the word of God be not blasphemed. ~Titus 2:4-5 KJV

13. A Christian woman ought to train up their children in the ways of the Lord:

[1] The words of king Lemuel, the prophecy that his mother taught him. [2] “What, my son? and what, the son of my womb? and what, the son of my vows? [3] Give not thy strength unto women, nor thy ways to that which destroyeth kings. [4] It is not for kings, O Lemuel, it is not for kings to drink wine; nor for princes strong drink: [5] Lest they drink, and forget the law, and pervert the judgment of any of the afflicted. [6] Give strong drink unto him that is ready to perish, and wine unto those that be of heavy hearts. [7] Let him drink, and forget his poverty, and remember his misery no more. [8] Open thy mouth for the dumb in the cause of all such as are appointed to destruction. [9] Open thy mouth, judge righteously, and plead the cause of the poor and needy…”~Proverbs 31:1-9 KJV

That they may teach the young women to be sober, to love their husbands, to love their children, ~Titus 2:4 KJV

Read about being “saved in childbearing.”

14. A Christian woman ought to expose the darkness:

[9] (For the fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness and righteousness and truth;) [10] Proving what is acceptable unto the Lord. [11] And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them . [12] For it is a shame even to speak of those things which are done of them in secret. [13] But all things that are reproved are made manifest by the light: for whatsoever doth make manifest is light. ~Ephesians 5:9-13 KJV

Take heed to yourselves: If thy brother trespass against thee, rebuke him; and if he repent, forgive him. ~Luke 17:3 KJV

[15] Moreover if thy brother shall trespass against thee, go and tell him his fault between thee and him alone: if he shall hear thee, thou hast gained thy brother. [16] But if he will not hear thee, then take with thee one or two more, that in the mouth of two or three witnesses every word may be established. [17] And if he shall neglect to hear them, tell it unto the church: but if he neglect to hear the church, let him be unto thee as an heathen man and a publican. ~Matthew 18:15-17 KJV

Read the story of Queen Esther.

Read about being a light.

If Christian women want to bring glory to God, they should do these things.
