Parable: Grumpy and Dumpy
Estimated Reading Time: 1 minuteOnce upon a time there was a grumpy. The grumpy was grumpy to her patrons until 10 a.m. nearly every day. When 10 a.m. arrived, Grumpy was no longer grumpy.
One day, Grumpy had a mature patron before 10 a.m. Grumpy gave her mature patron a service, but because it was before 10 a.m., Grumpy was grumpy and failed to speak to her patron. This made the patron angry and she never returned for a service with Grumpy.
Months later– Grumpy, who wasn’t baptized, decided to go to church. While Grumpy was at the church, she had to go to the restroom. The mature patron who left Grumpy months earlier walked into the restroom and she smiled at Grumpy.
Grumpy felt convicted as she washed her hands.
Then Grumpy said, “I’m sorr…” But, before Grumpy could finish, the patron dropped her smile and said, “Nope,” as she walked out the restroom door.
What should the mature patron have done?
