25 Days of Christmas Devotionals Day 22Remember Job?

He was a righteous and very blessed man who had to endure a time of testing. His test was quite grievous because he lost nearly everything. All his children died and his wife became exceedingly bitter because her well-respected husband became a “nobody” who was sick and disgusting. She told him to curse God. God, however, knew all along that this was a much needed test and he told Satan that he could not take Job’s life. Unfortunately, things were so bad for Job, he sat on a dung hill in his misery.

He threw himself away.

God’s test pushed Job into a place he never imagined. The great thing is, Job did not die from that illness. He recovered and received double back from all that he had lost—including more children.

Keep in mind, Job raised his previous children to be righteous. Therefore, when they died, they were— in his time— still alive in spirit, yet waiting for him in heaven because he raised his children to be righteous.  This means he never lost them, but would see them again.

And these shall go away into everlasting punishment: but the righteous into life eternal. ~Matthew 25:46 KJV

Thank God for righteousness.
