Share These 15 Perfection Scriptures with Imperfect Christians

Facts About These Scriptures:

  • Thirteen of these perfection scriptures are found in the New Testament.

  • Only two of them are from the Old Testament.

  • However, all fifteen cannot be found in the NIV Bible.

That’s fifteen, scriptural references to perfection that have been removed.  

Brace yourself because you are about to discover the perfection scriptures that encourage us to be made perfect as we work out our salvation with fear and trembling.  Did you know that many people who call themselves imperfect Christians have been telling everyone that “we will never be perfect?”  This denies God and Christ because of what He did for us.  Yikes!

Take a look at these Pinterest pins that reveal the cut-out, perfection scriptures.

Some of them have cut out other important details as well.

Some of them have changed the understanding to mean something entirely different.

Some of them will shock you.

If you post these scriptures about perfection on Pinterest or on your website or blog, your traffic containing imperfect Christians may be convicted to understand that the Bible really does tell us to be perfect because God did make a way.  Maybe you will even be encouraged to return to the King James Version Bible if you are not a standard user.

Let’s help the imperfect Christians to understand that there is hope to be made perfect.  Share.  Comment.  Pass it on.

"That the man of God may be perfect...""... He maketh my way perfect.""Mark the perfect man..."

 

"Be perfect...""... present every man perfect...""for the perfecting of the saints...""... stand perfect and complete...""...being made perfect...""... perfect work... perfect and entire...""...make you perfect in every good work...""...but everyone that is perfect shall be as his master.""...were already perfect...""...as many as be perfect...""...make you perfect...""...and this also we wish, even your perfection."

The NIV did leave a couple scriptures that kept the word perfect as in the KJV, so there are actually more than fifteen references.

UPDATE: FIVE MORE SCRIPTURES HAVE BEEN FOUND IN THE NEW TESTAMENT THAT ARE REINTERPRETED IN THE NIV.

1 JOHN 2:5 KJV “But whoso keepeth His word, in him verily is the love of God perfected:  hereby know we that we are in Him.” (The NIV says “love for God is truly made complete…”)

EPHESIANS 4:13 KJV “Till we come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ:” (The NIV says “become mature.”)

JOHN 17:23 KJV “I in them, and Thou in Me, that they may be made perfect in one; and that the world may know that Thou hast sent Me, and hast loved them, as Thou hast loved Me.” (The NIV says “brought to complete unity.”)

1 CORINTHIANS 1:10 KJV “But when that which is perfect is come, then that which is in part shall be done away.” (The NIV says “completeness comes.”)

1 CORINTHIANS 2:6 KJV “Howbeit we speak wisdom among them that are perfect: yet not the wisdom of this world, nor of the princes of this world, that come to nought:”  (The NIV says “mature.”)

THAT’S EIGHTEEN, NEW TESTAMENT, PERFECTION SCRIPTURES NOT FOUND IN THE NIV! A TOTAL OF TWENTY ARE IN THIS POST AND THE OLD TESTAMENT HAS SEVERAL MORE AS WELL.
