Estimated Reading Time: 3 minutes“Monsters don’t exist.”
Are you believing this lie?
God makes it very clear that there is a monster on the loose. That monster is the devil who is also known as a devourer, a thief, a liar, a snake, and a dragon who only comes to steal, to kill, and to destroy. It would be wise to begin to tell your children that not only is God our help, but we also must abide in Him to get that help.
Children who don’t realize this, may become adults who blame God when bad things happen. They grow up believing that “monsters don’t exist” simply because the topic is sugar-coated. Even though they may hear of the devil, these kind of people refuse to make the connection that perhaps the bad thing they experienced was evil at work or a well-deserved result of sin. They would rather embrace mocking or denying God because they are simply angry at Him because God is king and He must be blamed or rejected due to their pain.
I think a lot of parents hesitate to tell their child that monsters exist, but it is a wise thing to do so that the child learns to depend, seek, and call upon the Lord for help. It is important that they learn about the confidence we can put in the Lord and that we are created to plug into Him through continuous abiding. It is our requirement that we teach them diligently about the Word of God all the time.

[12] For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. [13] Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. [14] Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness; [15] And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace; [16] Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. [17] And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God: [18] Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints; ~Ephesians 6:11-18 KJV
