Moment of Truth: Casting Down Lies #1
Estimated Reading Time: 3 minutes“We could never understand the whole Bible.”
Are you believing this lie? Many Christians have come to believe that the Bible is one, gigantic mystery that cannot be deciphered. However, this is not what the word of God tells us.
And Jesus answered him, saying, “It is written, that man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word of God.” ~Luke 4:4 KJV
And He answered and said unto them, “My mother and my brethren are these which hear the word of God, and do it.” ~Luke 8:21 KJV
Consider what happens when disciples are made:
“And the word of God increased; and the number of the disciples multiplied in Jerusalem greatly; and a great company of the priests were obedient to the faith.” ~Acts 6:7 KJV
“But the word of God grew and multiplied.” ~Acts 12:24 KJV
How can the word grow and multiply if we do not know it?
How can we sanctify our food if we do not know the word of God?
“For it is sanctified by the word of God and prayer.” ~1 Timothy 4:5 KJV
He even told the people of the Old Testament Law, “Gather the people together, men, and women, and children, and thy stranger that is within thy gates, that they may hear, and that they may learn, and fear the Lord your God, and observe to do all the words of this law: and that their children, which have not known any thing, may hear, and learn to fear the Lord your God, as long as ye live in the land whither ye go over Jordan to possess it. ~Deuteronomy 31:12-13 KJV
These are some of the reminders that help us to understand that the Lord commands us to know His word in depth.
“Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.” ~2 Timothy 2:15 KJV
In order to fight spiritual battles that manifest in the physical, we must put on our spiritual armor which includes the following:
“And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:” ~Ephesians 6:17 KJV
What started this belief that you could never understand the whole Bible? Try searching for explanations on this website, you might find it—if you’re willing.
If God wants you to focus and live by His word, what do you think Satan will do to hinder that action? Distract you. Try to become aware of the distractions that try to creep into your life. These things are not necessities, but they have become priorities to use up your time and waste it.
Heavenly Father, help me to recognize the distractions in my life. Help me to have a heart to reprioritize and remove the things that are not important that I will purposefully study Your word which will overwhelm me and “produce fruit worthy of repentance.”
We can know the whole #Bible if we study it faithfully. Tags: #Christianity #HolyBible Share on X Cite this article: Please update the Accessed or Retrieved date (September 13, 2015).Thank you for reading!
