Know Your Enemy

Estimated Reading Time: 32 minutes

If you are unaware of the tactics of your enemy, you are a target. So let’s look at what we are dealing with.

The devil, once named Lucifer was cast out of heaven because he desired to be God. He wanted to exalt himself above his Creator, so he had to be cast out. First of all, this alone is a great example for people who think that they can live any old way and still be accepted by God. It is just not going to happen. God does not play. We ought to know that by looking at the fact that we, as humans, are made a little lower than the angels.

[6]But one in a certain place testified, saying, “What is man, that Thou art mindful of him? or the son of man, that Thou visitest him? [7]Thou madest him a little lower than the angels; Thou crownedst him with glory and honour, and didst set him over the works of Thy hands:” ~Hebrews 2:6-7 KJV

But we see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels for the suffering of death, crowned with glory and honour; that He by the grace of God should taste death for every man. ~Hebrews 2:9 KJV

Therefore, if God will cast out a rebellious angel1, He most certainly will cast out a rebellious human.

Although, some use the Word deceptively,

All that the Father giveth Me shall come to Me; and him that cometh to Me I will in no wise cast out. ~John 6:37 KJV

Some use this scripture to say that Jesus will not cast out anyone.  Notice, though, that those who accept, or come, Jesus will not reject, but those who fall away will pay because the Father will judge them.

He that rejecteth Me, and receiveth not My words, hath One that judgeth him: the word that I have spoken, the same shall judge him in the last day. ~John 12:48 KJV

For it is impossible for those who were once enlightened, and have tasted of the heavenly gift, and were made partakers of the Holy Ghost, [5]And have tasted the good word of God, and the powers of the world to come, [6]If they [meaning born-again people] shall fall away, to renew them again unto repentance; seeing they crucify to themselves the Son of God afresh, and put Him to an open shame. ~Hebrews 6:4-6 KJV

But that [meaning whoever] which beareth thorns and briers is rejected, and is nigh unto cursing; whose end is to be burned. ~Hebrews 6:8 KJV

[5] I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in Me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without Me ye can do nothing. [6] If a man abide not in Me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered; and men gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they are burned. ~John 15:5-6 KJV [Notice the branch is already grafted in.]

How shall we escape, if we neglect so great salvation; which at the first began to be spoken by the Lord, and was confirmed unto us by them that heard Him; ~Hebrews 2:3 KJV

Yes, a person can get cut off from Christ.~Throwing Away the Gift of Salvation... accidentally

Second, we see that we should be far removed from Lucifer’s ways. Therefore, when God asks certain things of us as women that are hard to take, the answer should always be to trust in Him—rather than in our own understanding, which is really just a rejection of God when it comes down to it. By accepting His Word as truth, one’s eyes can be opened.

Let’s Get Started:

Lucifer Betrayed God

Lucifer Betrayed God

The Word of God tells us in the book of Revelation that a third of the angels fell with Lucifer when he was cast out of heaven. So, we see that he was a backstabber because he convinced all those angels to follow him instead of God.2

Betrayal was the very act that Judas committed against our righteous Savior, Jesus. This act was at work during the taking of Communion at the last supper. Hence, we do not betray eachother as those who cheat on their spouses or set up their friends or reject someone without a cause.

Therefore, when the Word of the Lord says to love our brother (or sister in the faith), we ought to love our brother, so that we are far removed from an act of betrayal.

In this the children of God are manifest, and the children of the devil: whosoever doeth not righteousness is not of God, neither he that loveth not his brother. ~1 John 3:10 KJV

We ought to love our brother, so that we are far removed from an act of betrayal. Share on X

Lucifer Became a Murderer

Lucifer Became a Murderer

Lucifer became a murderer when he began convincing the angels to turn against God. See, if you turn against God, you have no life and certainly no everlasting life. Life comes through God. All those who follow the way of Lucifer will die and according to the Word are already dead unless they repent. Repentance in Christ is the good news that has been granted to the human. Notice that there is no repentance for the third of the angels that fell with Lucifer.

[3] And there appeared another wonder in heaven; and behold a great red dragon, having seven heads and ten horns, and seven crowns upon his heads. [4] And his tail drew the third part of the stars of heaven, and did cast them to the earth: and the dragon stood before the woman which was ready to be delivered, for to devour her Child as soon as it was born. ~Revelation 12:3-4 KJV

For if God spared not the angels that sinned, but cast them down to hell, and delivered them into chains of darkness, to be reserved unto judgment; ~2 Peter 2:4 KJV

So, rejoice at the good news that there is repentance for you. You see, the devil sees you as easy prey. The good news is that you were bought with a price. That high price was the price God’s only Son paid to buy you back— if you would accept and believe in Him.

Therefore, when the Word of the Lord says to love our enemy, so that we are far removed from becoming a murderer, accept it. Love your enemy and do well because we are embracing the living God.

Also, being a hateful person is like committing murder. Just think about middle school. Bullied kids who end up wanting to kill themselves or shoot their classmates are kids who have been teased by peers whom the devil was using. Words kill hearts and crush spirits and so does rejection. That’s murder.

Whosoever hateth his brother is a murderer: and ye know that no murderer hath eternal life abiding in Him. ~1 John 3:15 KJV

Therefore, when the Word of the Lord says to not “bear false witness” or to “love our neighbor” or if our brother/sister has something against us “Go and be reconciled,” we should teach and do the same so that we are far removed from murdering someone emotionally or embracing selfish division. By loving our neighbor, we are far removed from becoming a murderous devil.

And the second is like unto it, ‘Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.’ ~Matthew 22:39 KJV

Leave there thy gift before the altar, and go thy way; first be reconciled to thy brother, and then come and offer thy gift. ~Matthew 5:24 KJV

By loving our neighbor and reconciling with our brother, we are far removed from becoming a murderous devil. Share on X

Lucifer Became a Liar

Lucifer Became a Liar

To get a third of the angels on his side, you know he had to do some subtle and effective convincing. We see that when he was cast down to earth and was a manifested serpent in the garden, he began using those tactics again.

Now the serpent was more subtil than any beast of the field which the Lord God had made. And he said unto the woman, “Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden?” ~Genesis 3:1 KJV

Our enemy wants us to second guess God’s command, which makes us cast it off, which causes heresies. He also uses the lies of peer pressure. He uses it through temptation to tempt one to prove themselves.

And when the tempter came to Him, he said, “If thou be the Son of God, command that these stones be made bread.” ~Matthew 4:3 KJV

The tempter will also use God’s Word deceptively to tempt one to prove themselves,

And saith unto Him, “If thou be the Son of God, cast thyself down: for it is written, ‘He shall give His angels charge concerning thee: and in their hands they shall bear thee up, lest at any time thou dash thy foot against a stone.’” ~Matthew 4:6 KJV

Unholy beliefs are constantly being pitched to us throughout our lives through media or people we meet because the tempter wants to hook us away from God’s Word.  For instance, if you are convinced that you need to change or upgrade your things because it will make you sexier, richer, or more powerful bringing a sense of pride, it is clear that you have hearkened unto certain advertising that is not of God so you are believing lies. Furthermore, if you are encouraging other people to do the same, you are living a lie.  This also happens with false doctrines.

Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils; ~1 Timothy 4:1 KJV

[4] And the serpent said unto the woman, “Ye shall not surely die: [5] For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil.” ~Genesis 3:4-5 KJV

Therefore, when the Word of the Lord says to abide in Christ, Who is the Word of God, we constantly abide in His Word, which is the Truth, which makes us far removed from the liar.

Lucifer Desires the Glory

Lucifer Desires the Glory (Headcovering Connection)

In a previous article, I spoke about headcovering. We learn in the headcovering scriptures that as women, our hair gives glory to us. However, we also learn that we cover to have power on our heads “because of the angels.” Let’s think about that for a moment. Why would it be right for us to do this “because of the angels”?  Well, look at the start of the rebellion against God.  Here is a description of the king of Tyrus, which is an imitation of Lucifer:

[13] Thou hast been in Eden the garden of God; every precious stone was thy covering, the sardius, topaz, and the diamond, the beryl, the onyx, and the jasper, the sapphire, the emerald, and the carbuncle, and gold: the workmanship of thy tabrets and of thy pipes was prepared in thee in the day that thou wast created. [14] Thou art the anointed cherub that covereth; and I have set thee so : thou wast upon the holy mountain of God; thou hast walked up and down in the midst of the stones of fire. [15] Thou wast perfect in thy ways from the day that thou wast created, till iniquity was found in thee. [16] By the multitude of thy merchandise they have filled the midst of thee with violence, and thou hast sinned: therefore I will cast thee as profane out of the mountain of God: and I will destroy thee, O covering cherub, from the midst of the stones of fire. [17] Thine heart was lifted up because of thy beauty, thou hast corrupted thy wisdom by reason of thy brightness: I will cast thee to the ground, I will lay thee before kings, that they may behold thee. [18] Thou hast defiled thy sanctuaries by the multitude of thine iniquities, by the iniquity of thy traffick; therefore will I bring forth a fire from the midst of thee, it shall devour thee, and I will bring thee to ashes upon the earth in the sight of all them that behold thee. [19] All they that know thee among the people shall be astonished at thee: thou shalt be a terror, and never shalt thou be any more. ~Ezekiel 28:13-19 KJV

Through God’s rebuke of devilish ways, we can see that Lucifer wanted glory for himself because his heart became prideful about his beauty.

Therefore, when a woman comes to God without a covering in prayer or prophesying, it is shameful or dishonorable, as the apostle Paul says, because her hair is a glory to her.  Get it? This is not a small thing and when people turn it into a small thing or change headcovering into submission to a man, the point gets lost as it has been lost among many for years. It is about glory and respect to God and we ought to cover because of the angels who saw the fall of Lucifer.  We acknowledge that we have no part of Lucifer in front of the angels, through the covering of our own man-given glory before God in prayer or prophesying, which puts power on our head.

Moreover, in the same way, Lucifer was an angel who had many talents. Because of his talents, he wanted to become a star because he felt by his pride that he deserved it.

[13] For thou hast said in thine heart, “I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God: I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north: [14] I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will be like the most High” [15] Yet thou shalt be brought down to hell, to the sides of the pit. [16] They that see thee shall narrowly look upon thee, and consider thee, saying, “Is this the man that made the earth to tremble, that did shake kingdoms;” ~Isaiah 14:13-16 KJV

Notice how we should respect the sobriety and fear of God because Lucifer merely thought those things and embraced them in his heart.  Now, God has given talents to humans, but notice the difference. God gave talents to Lucifer, but Lucifer did not desire to use his talents to bring glory to God. He wanted to use his talents to exalt himself.  Look what God does:

Thy pomp is brought down to the grave, and the noise of thy viols3: the worm is spread under thee, and the worms cover thee. ~Isaiah 14:11 KJV

Therefore, when the Word of God says to rejoice in the Lord always, it is for the Lord and it is the opposite of Lucifer’s work.  We, as women, should embrace the Lord and be far removed from attempting to exalt ourselves as we remind ourselves that it is God who lifts up the humble and we would not have our talent were it not for God.  Our talent should bring all the glory back to Him and we should remember the scriptures about godly women.

Glory to God should not be something that can be shared.~Why You Should Sing to the Lord All the Time
God lifts up the humble, so we will be humble rather than embracing the devil's path. Share on X

Lucifer Plays Tricks

Lucifer Plays Tricks

There is no currency in heaven because God supplies every need. However, on earth, there is money. Lucifer discovered that he could use money through temptation. If he could get people to love it, it could lead to their downfall.

For the love of money is the root of all evil:  which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows. ~1 Timothy 6:10 KJV

When we see the poor struggling and in need of food, we feed them. When we see the orphan and the widow, we consider or assist them. When we see our own brother or sister in the church, we consider them more than ourselves as well, not withholding godly affections from any of these. Yet, oftentimes other than time and the charity of love, helping these people costs money. However, if we don’t have any because we spent it on our upkeep, or we feel that the poor shouldn’t get a handout, or we feel our money should go strictly to God, then they cannot receive it from us.

This goes back to Lucifer’s multitude of merchandise filling him with violence.

By the multitude of thy merchandise they have filled the midst of thee with violence, and thou hast sinned: therefore I will cast thee as profane out of the mountain of God: and I will destroy thee, O covering cherub, from the midst of the stones of fire. ~Ezekiel 28:16-17 KJV

[6] He answered and said unto them, “Well hath Esaias prophesied of you hypocrites, as it is written, ‘This people honoureth Me with their lips, but their heart is far from Me. [7] Howbeit in vain do they worship Me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men. [8] For laying aside the commandment of God, ye hold the tradition of men, as the washing of pots and cups: and many other such like things ye do. [9] And He said unto them, “Full well ye reject the commandment of God, that ye may keep your own tradition. [10] For Moses said, ‘Honour thy father and thy mother; and, Whoso curseth father or mother, let him die the death:’ [11] But ye say, if a man shall say to his father or mother, ‘It is Corban,’ that is to say, a gift, by whatsoever thou mightest be profited by me; ‘he shall be free.’ [12] And ye suffer him no more to do ought for his father or his mother; [13] Making the word of God of none effect through your tradition, which ye have delivered: and many such like things do ye.” ~Mark 7:6-13 KJV

Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils; ~1 Timothy 4:1 KJV

Therefore, when the Word of the Lord says to “be ye all of one mind having compassion,” or to “consider one another in order to stir up love and good works,” and to “plead the cause of the orphan and widow,” and to have “charity among yourselves”, we should strive to spend less, make do, or do without in order to be a blessing to someone else, which makes us far removed from turning tricks for the love of money or self.

Learn to do well; seek judgment, relieve the oppressed, judge the fatherless, plead for the widow. ~Isaiah 1:17 KJV

As sorrowful, yet alway rejoicing; as poor, yet making many rich; as having nothing, and yet possessing all things. ~2 Corinthians 6:10 KJV

For ye know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that, though he was rich, yet for your sakes he became poor, that ye through his poverty might be rich. ~2 Corinthians 8:9 KJV

Only they would that we should remember the poor; the same which I also was forward to do. ~Galatians 2:10 KJV

But ye have despised the poor. Do not rich men oppress you, and draw you before the judgment seats? ~James 2:6 KJV

We are bound to thank God always for you, brethren, as it is meet, because that your faith groweth exceedingly, and the charity of every one of you all toward each other aboundeth; ~2 Thessalonians 1:3 KJV

And above all things have fervent charity among yourselves: for charity shall cover the multitude of sins. ~1 Peter 4:8 KJV

Let no man seek his own, but every man another’s wealth . ~1 Corinthians 10:24 KJV

[16] Hereby perceive we the love of God, because he laid down His life for us: and we ought to lay down our lives for the brethren. [17]But whoso hath this world’s good, and seeth his brother have need, and shutteth up his bowels of compassion from him, how dwelleth the love of God in him? [18]My little children, let us not love in word, neither in tongue: but in deed and in truth. ~1 John 3:16-18 KJV

Lucifer Desires the Power

Lucifer Desires Power

I can only imagine how hurt the Lord must feel when He sees people killing others by exploiting them through drugs, sex, or violence or when He sees famous people who have the world eating deceptions out of the palm of their hand.  What’s worse is that some of these people wear the cross or claim Christianity, but the living God is not with them. They worship the devil because their intent is to gain power and control for themselves and they are the epitome of the world by flaunting murderous ways or covetous ways through the charm and seduction of their body and things.  They kill temples and use their temple for idolatry rather than for the Holy Spirit.

[8] Again, the devil taketh him up into an exceeding high mountain, and sheweth Him all the kingdoms of the world, and the glory of them; [9] And saith unto Him, “All these things will I give Thee, if thou wilt fall down and worship me.” ~Matthew 4:8-9 KJV

Therefore, when the Word of the Lord says to deny ourselves, be humble, not love the world or its things, exalt our weaknesses, and worship God alone, we learn to do the Lord’s will so that we are far removed from desiring the will of the devil.

[7] Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. [8] Draw nigh to God, and He will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded. [9] Be afflicted, and mourn, and weep: let your laughter be turned to mourning, and your joy to heaviness. ~James 4:7-9 KJV

Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and He shall lift you up. ~James 4:10 KJV

[10] Then saith Jesus unto him, “Get thee hence, Satan: for it is written, ‘Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and Him only shalt thou serve.’” [11] Then the devil leaveth Him, and, behold, angels came and ministered unto Him. ~Matthew 4:10-11 KJV

Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him. ~1 John 2:15 KJV

[16] For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world. [17] And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever. ~1 John 2:16-17 KJV

[9] And He said unto me, “My grace is sufficient for thee: for My strength is made perfect in weakness.” Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. [10] Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses for Christ’s sake: for when I am weak, then am I strong. ~2 Corinthians 12:9-10 KJV

Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, idolatry4, witchcraft5, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God. ~ Galatians 5:19-21 KJV

In Conclusion
Many other comparisons could be made about what the Lord desires of His own. It is important to know our enemy and if we are able to see the importance of our obedience to God, our souls will not perish. Praise the Lord!!!

[5] And she brought forth a man Child, who was to rule all nations with a rod of iron: and her Child was caught up unto God, and to His throne. [6] And the woman fled into the wilderness, where she hath a place prepared of God, that they should feed her there a thousand two hundred and threescore days. [7] And there was war in heaven: Michael and his angels fought against the dragon; and the dragon fought and his angels, [8] And prevailed not; neither was their place found any more in heaven. [9] And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him. [10] And I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, Now is come salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of his Christ: for the accuser of our brethren is cast down, which accused them before our God day and night. [11] And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death. [12] Therefore rejoice, ye heavens, and ye that dwell in them. Woe to the inhabiters of the earth and of the sea! for the devil is come down unto you, having great wrath, because he knoweth that he hath but a short time. ~Revelation 12:3-12 KJV
