25 Days of Christmas Devotionals | Day 1: Cleanliness is Next to GodlinessThere are three things that people with clean homes do every day1:

  1. They make their beds.

  2. They wipe down their kitchen, bathrooms, and floors daily.

  3. They spot clean.

These are a prepared people. We can learn from them because “cleanliness is next to Godliness.”

Although you will not find this statement in the Bible, it is very true. Throughout the scriptures, God wants His people to cleanse themselves from unrighteousness.

What is unrighteousness?

It is worldiness. It is wantoness, which is a profuse, luxuriant, lively promiscuity or actions for the love of this world, it’s things, and for self. It is the pride of life. So, what three things does the Lord say of this?

Deny yourself, take up your cross, and follow Me.”

“Having therefore these promises, dearly beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God. ~2 Corinthians 7:1, KJV
