Jesus is King

Jesus is king, but He wore a crown of thorns.
He gave His life for me; it’s the glory He adorns.
Lifted up in pain, crucified and slain;
He chose this way for all of us so death would never reign.

Yet, what I did not know was His raising from the dead.
Defeating death by miracle caused the enemies to dread.
The witnesses who saw Him believed their seeing eyes.
Yet, good ol’ doubting Thomas was ensured to poke His side.

The Savior had to leave them, but left with a command,
“I go to be with Father, I’m sure you’ll understand
That if I do not go up, the Spirit cannot come,
But when He comes, He’ll live in you and We will then be One.”

The Spirit is the Helper. He is holy. He is right.
He’ll help you and convict you so your shining will be bright.
Yet, only if you’re willing and striving for the cause
To do what Jesus did for you in taking up the cross.

[23] And He said to them all, “If any man will come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow Me. [24] For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: but whosoever will lose his life for My sake, the same shall save it. [25] For what is a man advantaged, if he gain the whole world, and lose himself, or be cast away?” ~Luke 9:23-25 KJV
